Ford Debuts the C-MAX in the United States

While we here at the Gillie Hyde Auto Group - 610 Happy Valley Road Glasgow, KY 42141 - are very excited about the new Ford C-MAX, we know that no one is more eager to get their hands on this vehicle than Ford's loyal customers. And, we know that the wait has been grueling for Ford enthusiasts here in the United States, considering the fact that the vehicle has been available in Europe since 2010, featuring both gasoline and diesel engines.

True Ford fans have nothing to fear though, as recently the American automaker announced that the crossover would be making its way to the U.S., but with a little bit of a twist that will make the wait all the more worth it. While it no longer can seat seven people, Ford is upping the ante with the C-MAX by offering it as a hybrid or plug-in electric. Ford came to this decision when considering the rising demand from consumers for more fuel efficient vehicles.

"Our customers have really changed in the last 120 days,"1 says Jim Farley, Head of Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford. He went on to indicate that the C-MAX should deliver the kind of fuel economy that consumers want; somewhere in the range of 41 mpg combined city/ highway.

Once production begins, the new Ford C-MAX's battery will be manufactured at their Rawsonville parts plant, while the vehicle's powertrain will be produced at the Van Dyke transmission facility. Overall this production lineup is expected to add nearly 170 new jobs to the respective plants as well as 50 engineers at Ford's Dearborn facility. The U.S.-bound C-MAX is already creating quite a splash in the automotive world.

While Ford has not yet released pricing and availability details surrounding the new C-MAX, we here at the Gillie Hyde Auto Group promise to be the first to let you know when such information is released. In the mean time, other hybrid vehicles from Ford are widely available, such as the 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid. If you'd like to know more about the Fusion hybrid or another other new Ford model, like the Ranger or E-250, feel free to visit us in person. And, remember to stay tuned for more from Ford, coming soon!
