Just when you thought Dodge couldn't possibly add any more fun points to the 2012 Dodge Charger, they showed up at the 2012 North American International Auto Show with the Dodge Charger Redline, a Mopar-enhanced supercar that boasts a whopping 590-horsepower.

That's right, this year in Detroit, Dodge pulled out all the stops. While they've already managed to turn the muscle-car inspired Charger into a family sedan, Dodge cranks up the power even more with a three-kit performance enhancement from their parts division, Mopar. And did we mention how fierce the new Charger looks?

Stage I includes all-new aerodynamic exterior components and interior accents that transform the Charger from a sedan into a 70s-inspired muscle car. The carbon fiber chin spoiler, Redline Tri-coat paint and two-piece grille are just the beginning here. Add to it the 20 x 8-inch Mopar Black Envy Wheels, carbon fiber door scoops, carbon fiber rear spoiler and vinyl roof graphic in matte black, Mopar has created one very serious looking Charger.

The Stage II performance kit includes Mopar's cat-black performance exhaust system, increased structural stability, Mopar break-linings and a bump in horsepower that enables the HEMI V8 engine to deliver its best performance yet. Plus, it sounds pretty cool, too.

For the Stage III package, Mopar enhanced the engine even more, increasing the horsepower output by 220 with Dodge's legendary 426 cubic-inch "Elephant Motor." The lightweight aluminum design of the V8 engine block is 100 pounds lighter than the traditional cast-iron version, allowing the 426 HEMI V8 to perform at the top of its class. The catch is, this engine wasn't designed for everyday use - but those with a need-for-speed at the track will definitely love it.
