A Brief History of Gillie Hyde Auto

Way back in 1953, Gillie Taswell Hyde entered a
partnership with Les Moran in his car dealership, then selling Ford and Mercury
models. Later, in the mid-60's, Gillie Hyde bought out Les Moran and started
making big changes to the dealership, first and foremost changing its name to Gillie
Hyde; second was moving it to 610 Happy Valley Road, where it still resides
today. Fast forward to 1978 when Gillie's son, Mike Hyde, entered the business
by buying 25% of the dealership, changing it to a family business as it's
remained ever since. They later added Lincoln models to the lineup, then the
Chrysler model lineup in 1980. Jeep models were added in 1998 and, in 2002, the
pre-owned lineup was added, featuring GM models and import vehicles of all
types. Now, Gillie Hyde has grown to the dealership we all know and love, and
we hope it continues to grow for generations to come.
